I admit it was not an easy task to give up drinking but when I did the pros and cons you mentioned earlier I found it very easy to say not to it as I found out that I can be very entertaining, confident, intellectual, and amusing even with just a cup of water as long as I am accompanied by the right people. Our biggest enemy is our ego and as long as we allow it to feed of our bad habits we will never be in control of our mind and emotions.

I’ve not had the courage(?) to drop alcohol completely from my life, but I’ve thought about it many times. I’ve done so much weighing up of pros and cons, great nights out vs hangovers, etc. But I’ve got a couple of months on the wagon, and I definitely notice the difference in my mental potential.

Talking about motivation though, one of my uncles in law spend much of last night trying to convince me to drink! Ironically, I actually get motivation from my ability to withstand that sort of temptation, so I kind of welcome it. Kind of..
